Barcelona

Barcelona is the capital city of Catalonia in Spain. It is also the country's second largest city after Madrid. It has a population of about 1.6 million and it is located on the north - east coast of Spain.

Barcelona is one of the largest cosmopolitan cities on the Mediterranean sea and attracts lots of tourists every year.

Barcelona is famous for sports. In 1992 it hosted the Olympic games and it is also the home of Barcelona FC. I love this team cause it is always at the top of the Spanish league and it has two of the best football players in the world, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

I suggest everyone should visit Barcelona because it is a beautiful city.

Shrek the Third: Friends and Foes

My favourite book is: 'Friends and Foes' by Catherine Hapka which was first published in Great Britain in 2007.

The story is about Shrek and his wife Fiona. Shrek is a big, green ogre. He used to live alone in a swamp. Then he married Fiona. She talked him into going to the big city. Shrek doesn't like the city much. He wants to go to his swamp. There is just one problem. He might have to stay and become the king there! But Shrek does not want to become a king so he wants to suggest Artie his nephew for the throne. So Shrek, Puss in boots and Donkey go on a trip to bring Artie to the throne. They are captured by captain Hook and his men but with the help of three pigs they manage to escape and bring Artie to the kingdom of 'Far far away'. Shrek and Fiona move to their swamp and live happily ever after with their three triple ogres.

I like this book because I think it is a great fairytale.

Corfu - Kerkyra

Corfu or Kerkyra in Greek, is an island in the north of the Ionian sea. It is a very nice island with lots of trees and beautiful flowers.

There are lots of nice beaches on the island like Ipsos, Sidari and Palaiokastritsa. There are quite a few museums like the Archaelogical Museum of Corfu and the Museum of Asian Art. Another place of interest is the Achilleion. Achilleion is also known as the palace of Sisi and it was built by the empress Elizabeth of Bavaria also known as Sisi. In the garden of the palace one can see the statue of Achilles while inside there are lots of interesting paintings.

I always love Corfu and when I am there I enjoy myself. You can watch a video of Corfu below:

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

The film I like the most is 'Harry Potter and the deathly Hallows'. The story takes place at a school where they teach magic.

The main character is Harry Potter who fights against evil and lord Voldermort. Voldermort is bad and very strong and wants to kill Harry. When Harry was a baby, Voldermort killed Harry's parents and left a piece of his heart in Harry.

I like this film because it is very interesting and very good.

Below you can watch the trailer of the movie.

Paris

Paris is the capital of France. It is located on the river Seine towards the north of France and it has an area of about 105 square kilometers.

Paris was originally founded by the Celts. However, in 52 BC the Romans took it. In fact, it is the Roman Julius Caesar, who first mentions Paris. In his book 'History' he calls the city of Paris 'Loutetia'. In 1828, the big roads of Paris had lamps powered by gas and this is how it got the name of "Ville Lumière", which in English means "The city of light".

The river Seine crosses Paris and divides it in the right bank where most businesses have their offices and the more intellectual left bank where one can find art shops, artists or just drink coffee at the numerous Cafés. Big organisations like Unesco have their home in Paris.

Every year lots of tourists visit Paris. They admire the architecture of the city and the monuments. Everyone should go to Paris and see the Eiffel tower, the Louvre where the Aphrodite of Milos and other Greek statues are found, Notre Dam and the palace of Versailles. Of course a visit to Paris is not complete without seeing the Moulin Rouge and the Eurodisney.

I love Paris very much!

Here's a video about Paris. I hope you love Paris too.
